Foreign taxi drivers working in Ireland face being robbed at knifepoint, racially abused by passengers and regularly have customers run out of cars without paying their fare.

In the wake of the Dublin riots, many are fearful they will become targets for abuse, with some indicating they no longer intend to work night-time shifts.
