Traditional sectors say Budget 2024 has left them behind

Retail, childcare and pubs say tax changes favour startups and Big Tech, not them

Small shops, pubs and crèches say Budget 2024 will make them worse off and that a €250m ‘increased cost of business’ scheme won’t help.

The €14bn giveaway unveiled by Finance Minister Michael McGrath yesterday was welcomed by large firms and start ups, but smaller firms say it will do little to help, particularly for more traditional bricks and mortar retailers dotted across Ireland.
