There was more success for Irish stars in the AFLW Grand Final which was played in Melbourne overnight after the Brisbane Lions, who included Tipperary’s Orla O’Dwyer and Dublin’s Jennifer Dunne in their starting team, proved too strong for North Melbourne.

O’Dwyer, who had 11 disposals and scored a crucial goal, became only the second Irish player to win two premierships while Dunne (four disposals) is the first player to win an All-Ireland title here and go on to win an AFLW crown in her first season Down Under in the same year.
