Meet the true-crime podcaster delving into Ireland’s cold cases and unsolved murder mysteries

Nules Ní Chleirigh from Co Tipperary was in her late-30s when she took a leap of faith and quit her job in nursing. Now a true-crime podcaster, she says she’s finally found her dream career after years of searching for it

‘I think I was among the last generation of people who were of the mindset that once you had your permanent, pensionable job, that was you set for life. Of course, 18 is too young an age to decide what you want to do with the rest of your life, but my generation just aren’t as likely to switch careers.

I worked as a nurse for almost 20 years and for a long time I thought that was the way my life was going to be. I felt like I was helping people and I think it helped me to grow up fast as well. I started training as a nurse in my late-teens and I was seeing stuff the average 17- or 18-year-old doesn’t witness. When nursing was good, it was great.
