Medical equipment provider Medray has acquired Avista Medical, a Dublin-based medical diagnostic business.

Medray supplies healthcare equipment to radiology, dental, veterinary and associated sectors across Ireland and the UK.

This is the fifth acquisition completed by the company since it was acquired by private equity investor Erisbeg in 2019.

Erisbeg invests in businesses that can become leaders in their industry through organic growth and acquisitions.

Avista Medical, which was founded in 2004, has developed medical imaging equipment and also provides a support service to radiology departments in public and private hospitals across Ireland.

Avista is the long-term agent and support specialist for Canon Medical Systems, the global manufacturer of CT, MRI, X-Ray and ultrasound equipment in Ireland.

Medray chief executive Siobhan Crowley said that the business “complements Medray’s diagnostic portfolio and strengthens the service and support offering to our customers.”

“I’ve known the CEO Siobhan Crowley for many years and am looking forward to further serving our clients with a strengthened Imaging sales and service team and reaching out to new clients into the future,” added Avista Medical managing director and co-founder Matt Corcoran.

In June, Medray bought Molloy Veterinary, a Longford-based business. The business supplies veterinary practices across Ireland.
