In response my description of farmers’ attempts to drive up factory prices as being like climbing the Himalayas, one factory agent phoned me to over the weekend to tell me, “you’re out of the foothills at €5.00/kg”.

Technically he is correct once you add on the 20c/kg quality assurance bonus to bases of €4.80 and €4.85/kg for bullocks and heifers respectively.
